    • WordPress: in the block editor, add an Image block or Gallery block and upload or select from the Media Library. Set alt text, caption, and image size in the block settings.

    • Squarespace/Wix: use the image content block or section; upload file, add caption/alt text, and select layout/style.

  • Email

    • Many email editors let you drag-and-drop an image block and upload. For HTML email, use . Host images on a reliable server and keep file sizes small to avoid deliverability issues.

  • Social media

    • Follow platform-specific specs: Instagram (square/portrait), Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn accept PNG/JPEG; upload via the app or web composer. Add alt text where available for accessibility.

  • Documents (Word, Google Docs, PDF)

    • Insert > Image, then choose upload, drive, or URL. Resize inside the document and add alternative text from image properties.

  • Presentations (PowerPoint, Google Slides)

  • Apps or mobile

    • Within an app that supports uploads, look for an image/photo icon or upload button. Follow app prompts for cropping and permissions.

File type and size recommendations

  • Preferred formats: JPEG/JPG for photos, PNG for graphics with transparency, SVG for vector logos (web only).

  • Keep web images under 200 KB when possible. Use responsive images (srcset) or modern formats like WebP where supported.

  • Use compression tools to reduce file size without noticeable quality loss.

Accessibility and SEO

  • Always add descriptive alt text for images.

  • For web images, use meaningful filenames and include captions or surrounding text that describes the image.

  • For decorative images, use empty alt text (alt="") so screen readers skip them.
