Parents play a huge role in the recruiting process, but it's important to let the athlete lead. Support them by helping organize their schedule, keeping track of important deadlines, and being their biggest cheerleader. Avoid speaking for them in emails or phone calls with coaches—college programs want to hear directly from the athlete. Also, help manage expectations and provide emotional support throughout what can be a stressful process.
