Offensive Terms
Slam - On ball pick.
Camo - Cut through to create space for a ball carrier – a camo aware of supporting the ball - SEE BALL ENTIRE TIME
Fog - Set Slam and exit your slam right when the defense gets set.
Slip - Show Slam and step though without setting pick.
Mirror - Work in opposition with ball carrier, in partner pair
Smash - Off ball pick
Defensive Terms
Hot - First Slide
Fire - Slide is happening.
Crash - Collapse to the Hole.
Hole - Middle of the defense the near crease, right in front of goal.
Shark - Ground ball in defensive end we need to come up with it
GLE - Goal Line Extended
Communication
Dodge - Player with the ball making a move toward the goal. Square up your defender (your shoulders should match up with his) Attack top foot, top shoulder, top hand. YOU dictate what you want.
One More - Make one more pass – formerly “here is you help”
RIGHT AWAY - Throw me the ball NOW I can score!
GAS IT - Throw to headman in transition
Motor - To hip dodge with power and authority. Attaktc the midline / boatline - “sweep” - camo adjacent topman join opposite of boat
Drive - Alley dodge attacking alley down field with power and authority.
Follow - Support behind the dodge. You communicate with “BACK” to the ball carrier letting him know you are supporting him behind.
Float - The player in the crease finds space created by a sliding defenseman. Find the free area. You do not have to have a specific spot to go, just find the free space to receive a pass. OR Inside lane Following a camo, flash, or crash - sit, see ball find open space to catch and shoot.
Forward - Move the ball to the teammate in front of you on the perimeter.
Back - Move the ball to the teammate behind you in the “Follow” position.
Fade - Stepping away for the dodge - finding open space backside.
Little / Big - a slam where an off ball player being guarded by a short stick defender sets a slam on a ball carrier who is being guarded by a long pole defender
Razor - Slam set on or around GLE
Exchange - switch spots with off ball teammate on your side of the boat.
Fill - Replace a player who just cut or cleared through in a rotation.
Show - Support in front of the dodge
Flash - Ball cut – a cut where off ball player cuts to the ball
Crash - Goal cut – a cut where the off ball player cut to the goal with the intent of the ball meet him there
